"War On Cost 2010", was another very exclusive event which took place in the Cabinet War Rooms in the heart of London, an historic underground complex that housed a British government command centre throughout the Second World War.

The aim of this event was to give attendees valuable information on how they could once again help theirr organisation drive down the cost of managing your Windows and Non-Windows based infrastructure using the Microsoft System Center Suite of products.

This session will focus on leveraging Data Protection Manager’s protection and recovery capabilities in large datacenters.  We will look at how Data Protection Manager protects and recovers critical application workloads such as SQL, Exchange and SharePoint – as well as virtual machines within Hyper-V.  The session is full of demonstrations, including the new self-service restore capability for database administrators.  We will also look at combining on-premise and off-premise protection using both Data Protection Manager’s built-in replication mechanisms as well as cloud-based Data Protection Manager-partner repositories.

War On Cost 2009
@ HMS Belfast

"009 saw the first "War on Cost" event, a very exclusive event which took place on the World War 2 battle cruiser HMS Belfast on the River Thames by Tower Bridge in London. The aim of this event was to show how companies can drive down the cost of managing a Windows and Non-Windows based infrastructure using the Microsoft System Center Suite of products and featured three dynamic System Center focused tracks featuring product overviews and technical deep dives on the System Center Suite directly from the Microsoft Product Management team and key industry experts, including:

The event was one of the only System Center focused events to take place in the UK that year. The event was timed to coincide with the launch of Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2.

The Venue was carefully chosen to fit with the theme of the battle many companies are facing in driving down the cost of implementing and maintaining their Windows and Non-Windows based infrastructure.

The Venue “The HMS Belfast” is one of the most historic landmarks in London. The HMS Belfast saw active service in the second and has since been preserved as a floating museum.

The event was sold out three weeks leading upto the event, and was attended by a combination of business and technical decision makers from some of the leading companies in the UK.
